Color Schemes in the Site Designer

Whats on this Page?

  • Using the Built in Schemes?
  • Creating a Custom Scheme?
  • Determining What Color an element currently has?

Using the Built in Schemes

1.  To chose a color scheme open the Site Designer and if it is not already switch to the Site Designer tab.

2.  Next select Color from the Design Options.

3.  From the dropdown you select from anyone of the predefined colors.

Creating a Custom Color Scheme

1.  Follow all the steps above and if there is a color scheme that is close to what you want (maybe just a wrong footer color) select it from the predefined colors, this will the process just a little quicker.

2.  On the Site Color Schemes dropdown at the bottom click Create Custom Color Scheme.

3.  For the Create Custom Color Scheme dialog click the plus symbol (or the name), this will reveal all the colors you can change for that section.  In this case the Navigation section and in particular the Button Text, once you have it selected click a color from the right if the color you want is listed (and it probably is not) click More Colors.  This will allow you to either choose from color selector or you can enter a hexadecimal color (example under Determining Color Scheme).  When click Ok or Apply.

Determining What Color an element currently has?

Ever wonder or need to know what color you navigation button is?  You can of course install an application that will allow to select the color and it will tell the RGB or Hex value for the color, but it is much easier to just follow the steps above, select the element of which color you want to know and click More Colors, this will list the Hex value for the color.
