Microsoft Office Live Tips

Tables
Tables are extremely useful for aligning, creating Navigation bars, and creating a background. Set the border to Zero or border color to white to make the border to disappear.

Creating a Page
I would strongly recommend that when you create a new page that you use the General Template, this helps prevent the fonts changing problems.

FAQ or Page Navigation
Check out my FAQ solution http://solutionsforofficelive.com/creatinganchors.aspx this is a solution for a FAQ but works for page navigation as well.

Pictures
Float Left/Right can make the picture sit along side the text. Tables come in handy if you are having a difficult time aligning your pictures.
Resizing Pictures. Do not use the Office Live designer to resize your picture, resize the pictures on your computer first before uploading them! Microsoft has a handy Picture Resizer for Windows.

Fonts

Keep it simple, use 1 or 2 different fonts, and keep it to 1 or 2 colors, using too many differnt fonts or colors can make it distracting.  Also use large fonts and bold/underline sparingly.

Spell Checking
Office Live currently does not have a spell checker, there are two ways to solve this problem.
1. Type out what you want in Word and copy it to Office Live Page Editor, this allows you to spell check, but all the formatting is stripped off.
2. After typing what you want in the Office Live editor, save and click view. Select the text you just typed copy Ctrl+C and paste Ctrl+V it into your wordprocesser. Now spell check and any problems you find correct in the Office Live editor.

Undo
If you want to undo a change you just made you may be able to use "Ctrl+Z" to undo, this does not always work; so you may have to close the editor and when it asks to save, click cancel.
