First off what is the description?
The description meta tag is used to give a short description of the page. Search engines may use this description when displaying search results.
What should you put in your description?
Your description should be a short one to three sentence describing the contents of your page. You should be sure to include at least a few keywords from your meta tag keywords and well as a few main keywords from your page. Make sure it is readable though. Search engines don't really pay that much attention to the description other than displaying it in the search results.
